Diaper Rash
Most babies get diaper rash, but it is usually not serious.
What is diaper rash?
Diaper rash develops in the diaper area. The skin might be red or in more severe cases , there may be painful open sores. Treatment takes 3 to 4 days.
What causes diaper rash?
Too much moisture
Chafing or rubbing
When urine or stools touch skin for a long time
When to call the pediatrician
The rash is worse after 3 days of treatment
The rash includes blisters
Your baby has fever
The rash is painful
What can I do if my baby gets diaper rash?
Keep the area clean and dry
Gently clean with water and a soft washcloth
Pat dry, do not rub
Allow the area to air-dry fully
Apply a thick layer of protective ointment or cream (Sudocrem or Imazol)
